Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent high temp. cracking surely and weld thick wall materials with high efficiency by using a welding wire contg. specific amts. of C, Mn, P, S at the time of welding steel materials contg. a specific amt. of relatively high carbon. CONSTITUTION:A submerged arc welding method for steel materials contg. 0.15- 0.3 C by wt%. At this time, a welding wire contg. <0.1 C, 1.6-2Mn, <0.015 P and <0.01 S by wt% is used. If such welding wire is used, good welding is made possible despite welding at >=kJ/cm welding heat input in single layer welding. Further good welding is accomplished if a flux contg. <50 SiO2, 20-40 CaO, <20 CaF2, <20 Al2O3, <0.03 P, 0.03 S, 0.03 C by wt% is used.
