Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the distribtion of gaseous flow in a blast furnace with good accuracy by blowing a tracer gas through a gas blowing device into the furnace upper than a receway, sampling the infurance gas with a gas sampler, and measuring the concn. of the tracer gas. CONSTITUTION:A gas blowing device 4 is inserted into a blast furnace upper than the raceway, and a gas sampler 5 that can sample the gas at plural points 6,7,8 of different positions in the radial direction of the furnace is disposed into the furnace upper than said device 4. A tracer gas is blown through the device 4, and the gas in the furnace is sampled with the sampler 5. The gas is analyzed with a gas analyzer 9, whereby the concn. of the tracer gas is measured. Thereby, the speed and direction of the flow of the gas in the blast furnace are measured from the blowing position of the tracer gas, the gas sampling position and the concn. measured value of tracer gas, and this is effectively utilized for operation of blast furnaces.
