Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure flatness without the influence of vertical vibrations owing to traveling, and noise components by subjecting the outputs of >=3 sets of displacement gages provided in the width direction of a steel plate under rolling to prescribed pocessing and generating the DC voltages corresponding to flatness. CONSTITUTION:The displacements corresponding to the height of a steel plate 1 are detected by 3 sets of displacement gages 2 provided in the width direction of the traveling steel plate 1 of a rolling device, and are converted to voltage signals via an HPF3. The differences between these voltages and the average voltage value by an average operator 4 are outputted from a differential amplifier 5, by which the flapping components of the steel plate are removed. Further, these are multiplied by the output of an amplifier 3 in a multiplier 6 and are made into the voltage including the DC components proportional to the square of plate waving amplitude. They are removed of the AC components owing to inclusion from other displacement gages and noises or the like by the subsequent processing with an LPF7, and an extraction device 8, whereby the DC voltages proportional to the plate height are generated, and the flatness of the steel plate is measured without the influence of vertical vibrations owing to traveling and noise components.
