Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a diffracted wave of some channel from entering another channel, by providing a sound absorber or groove between two surface acoustic wave filters. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of a piezoelectric substrate 1, a sound absorber 10 is provided between a surface acoustic wave filter composed of comb-shaped electrodes 2 and 4 and another surface acoustic wave filter composed of comb-shaped electrodes 3 and 5. Those surface acoustic wave filters are both connected together electrically at terminals 6-9. Surface acoustic waves energized by transducers 2 and 3 propagate on the surface of the piezoelectric substrate 1 and are received by output transducers 4 and 5. The energized surface wave, specially, from a part having small cross width is diffracted to spread toward the other channel. At this time, it is attenuated enough to disregard the entrance into the other channel through the absorption of the absorber 10, thus obtaining desired characteristics.
