Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a surface acoustic wave filter having the satisfactory characteristics, by effectively removing a reflected wave from an electrode placed in the vicinity of the end part of an input transducer. CONSTITUTION:On the opposite side of an output IDT14 in an input transducer IDT12, plural reed screen type electrodes consisting of a 1/4 pitch of prescribed wavelength decided by the surface acoustic wave filter element, respectively, from an outermost electrode 121 of the IDT12 are formed in one body with the extended part of one common electrode 12a of the IDT12. Subsequently, a reflection of a surface wave having no relation with weighting of the IDT12 is negated by these reed screen type electrodes, so as to get rid of a reflected wave proceeding in the direction of the IDT14. Also, an acoustical absorbent layer 15 is provided so that an outermost electrode 171 of the reed screen type electrode 171 is entierly buried, and generation of a reflected wave by the electrode 171 is prevented.
