Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a torque detector, by securing such constitution in that a gate circuit is controlled with the phase difference of two signals synchronous with the rotation of two phases at two points on a power transmission shaft with a prescribed distance and then counting the pulses of a certain period that pass through the gate circuit. CONSTITUTION:Pickup coils 6 and 7 are set to be opposite to impellers 2 and 3 which are attached to a power transmission shaft with their phases arranged to two points on the shaft with a prescribed distance. The outputs of these coils are supplied to a phase difference detecting circuit 13 via waveform shaping circuits 11 and 12. A pulse signal having an amplitude corresponding to the phase difference is applied to a gate circuit 14 from the circuit 13. Then the pulse signal oscillated from an oscillator 15 in a certain period is controlled. The pulses phased through the circuit 14 are counted by a counter 16 that is controlled by a control circuit 18. Then the engine torque corresponding to the twist of a power transmission shaft. Such system can simplify the structure of a torque detector.
