Abstract
PURPOSE:To allow repeated generation of a constant-power pulse at high speed by increasing pumping by a method wherein a charging voltage of a capacitor is gradually increased by each shot. CONSTITUTION:When changeover switches 501-50N are OFF, capacitors 301- 30N are changed via resistors 201-20N by voltage supplies 101-10N, respectively. If a switch 501 turns ON, a D.C. voltage (for example, 3,000V) of the capacitor 301 is applied via a coil 401 to a discharge tube 6. When the switch 50N is finally turned ON after turning all previous switches ON in turn, a voltage of, for example, 3,000+100(N-)V which was charged on the capacitor 30N is applied to the discharge tube 6 via coil 40N. With this configuration, fast-repeating oscillation of multiple pulses is made excited, even the temperature of a rod increases graudally by the excitation of the discharge tube at each flashing, the output of a ruby laser oscillator does not decrease, providing a constant output.
