Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent generation and spreading of quenching without regard to the normal of the accident situation, by a method wherein the 1st and the 2nd limiting means which limit a field voltage are provided to an exciter and the field voltage is controlled by the smaller one of the limiting values of above two means. CONSTITUTION:A field coil 2 of a three-phase synchronous generator 1 which is connected to a main circuit breaker CB is composed of a superconductor coil which has inductance. A thyristor equipment 3 which is driven by a transformer Tr and a power current transformer PCT which are provided to the main bus is used as an exciter of the field coil 2. With above configuration a gate pulse of a thyristor of the equipment 3 is controlled by a gate angle controller 4 connected to an automatic voltage controller 5 so that the terminal voltage of the generator 1 is kept at the prescribed value. In that case the second limiter 8 connected to a field voltage detectors 10 and 11 and the first independent limiter 7 are connected to the equipment 4 through a low value priority circuit 9 so that the gate angle is controlled by the smaller one at the limiting signals of the equipments 8 and 7.
