Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the loss and make a titled device small-sized without a thyristor having a high dielectric strength and a large current capacity, by combining a breaker with a static automatic voltage adjusting equipment of a direct switching system. CONSTITUTION:A static automatic voltage adjsting equipment 3 of a direct switching system is connected to a line 4 which connects a substation 1 and a load 2, and a breaker 5 is inserted in the power source side of this equipment 3. The equipment 3 is provided with an adjusting transformer 11 consisting of taps t1-t6 and thyristor switches S1-S6 connected to these tops, respectively, and switches S1-S6 are connected to the breaker 5 through current transfomers CT1-CT6 and reactors L1-L6. The output of a current transfomer CT for overcurrent detection provided in the breaker is inputted to a controller 6 which controls the equipment 3 and the breaker 5, and power for the controller 6 is given from the line through a transformer 8 for control power source and a switch 10. The controller 6 performs the control to open the breaker 5 for an overcurrent; and when the breaker should be closed, the controller closes the breaker after giving continuously an ignition signal to one of switches S1-S6, and thus, switches S1-S6 are protected from overcurrent and overvoltage.
