Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an optical disc which can be reproduced through the reflecting light of laser light with weak power, by irradiating energy beam such as laser light on a disc laminating light reflecting material layers on a thermoplastic material layer and forming unevenness on the disc. CONSTITUTION:On a disc 12 made of a thermplastic material such as acrylic resin, a recording medium 8 for energy beam is formed by vacuum deposition of a light reflecting material layer 11 made of metal such as A, in about 30nm thickness. A light modulated into pulsive nature from an argon laser source 488nm in wavelength through a modulator 6 is concentrated to the medium 8 in spot via a lens 7 to produce a recess 13 of about 61nm depth on the resin 12 through the heat. It is preferrable to form the recess 13 into the groove of 1/8 or 1/4 depth of the wavelength of the reproducing laser light. Thus, since the recorded information is attenuated for the reflecting light through the irradiation of a weak argon laser, the information can be read out with a photodetector 9.
