Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit to read and reproduce informations with reflected beams and to increase contrast between the recorded part and the non-recorded part by forming a metal thin film layer on a recording layer in an optical information recording medium using a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:A thin film of lead phthalocyanine is formed on a substrate and a metal thin film is formed thereon. Lead phthalocyanine has high sensitivity and absorption peaks in visible and near infrared regions, thus permitting to record and reproduce writing or reading with various laser beams. The provision of the metal thin film layer on the recording layer makes it possible that the recording layer is protected from dirt from the hands and mechanical or dynamical flaws, reading and reproduction are performed with the reflected beams, and further contrast as a difference in intensity of the reflected beams from the information recorded part and the non-recorded part is increased.
