Abstract

PURPOSE: A specific base material is coated with a photosetting resin composition and dried by heating, thus producing the titled flexible and half-hardened prepreg that readily gives a heat-resistant insulator by irradiation with light.
CONSTITUTION: At first, (A) an isocyanate-modified epoxy resin is prepared by the reaction of (i) 1 equivalent amount of an isocyanate compound such as hexamethylene diisocyanate with (ii) 1.2W5 equivalent amount of an epoxy compound in the presence of a heteroring-forming catalyst such as iron chloride. the resulant isocyanate-modified epoxy resin is made to react with (B) an unsaturated monobasic acid such as acrylic acid to give a photosetting resin composition. Then, the base material that is made by fusing composite mica paper containing 1W5% high polymer fibrids as a binder with aromatic polyamide paper is coated or impregnated with the above composition and dried by heating to the obiective half-hardened prepreg. The amount of the aromatic polymide paper is 20W120pts.wt./100pts. of the composite mica paper.
