Abstract

PURPOSE: The reaction between chromone-3-carboxyldehyde and N-halogenosuccinimide is followed by the reaction of the product with an amine to produce the titled compound used as an antibiotic in high yield.
CONSTITUTION: The reaction between a compound of formulaI(R1 is H, monovalent substituent; n is 1,2) and an N-halogenosuccinimide is effected, preferably in a solvent such as dichloromethane under irradiation with light at 40W100°C. Then, the resultant reactive compound is made to react with an amine of formula II (R2 is monovalent organic group) at room temperature or lower one to obtain the compound of formula III. The process of the present invention gives the objective compound by substantially one-state process, thus being industrially advantageous.
