Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively prevent the corrosion of the stirring shaft of a high-temperature reactor furnace by a method in which a refrigerant is always passed a hollow pathway formed in a stirring shaft when being used and part of a reactant mixture is coagulated and fixed to the face in contact with the reactant mixture of the stirring shaft to form a self-lining layer. CONSTITUTION:A refregirant is always passed through a hollow pathway 12 formed in the stirring shaft 11 of a stirrer 2 provided to a horizontal muffle furnace 1 when being used, whereby part of reactant mixture is coagulated and fixed to the face in contact with the reactant mixture of the shaft 11 to form a self-lining lyer 19. Thus, since, even when cracks or other defects are taken place in the anti- corrosive lining layer 18 of the shaft 11, the reactant mixture intruding ino the cracked part, etc., soon solidifies to form the layer 19, no further intrusion of the reactant mixture occurs. Accordingly, the self-repairing function can eliminate the need for the stoppage of operation and therefore, the operating rate of the facility can be improved.
