Abstract

PURPOSE: When an isocyanate and an active hydrogen compound are made to react in the presence of a filler of silicate such as glass fiber, a metal salt of long-chain alkylcarboxylic acid or a salt of organic phosphate is added to produce a polyurethane with high tensile strength and elongation at break.
CONSTITUTION: The reaction between (A) an isocyanate bearing at least 2 isocyanate groups such as TDI and (B) a compound bearing at least 2 active hydrogens such as polyether-or polyesterpolyol is effected in the presence of (C) a filler of silicate, preferably glass fiber, and (D) a metal salt of long-chain, preferably 10W20C, alkylcarboxylic acid, preferably zinc or calcium salt or a salt of organic phosphate, preferably alkyl phosphate, e.g., they are subjected to reactive injection molding. The amount of component C is preferably 5W30wt% based on the molded product.
