Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the strength and the pitting-corrosion resistance of an Al alloy brazing sheet, by cladding a sacrifice anode Al alloy and an Al alloy solder onto the both surfaces of a high strength Al alloy as a core member. CONSTITUTION:The brazing sheet, to be used as a radiator or the like for a motor cycle, automobile or the like, is made of an Al alloy clad material having the following construction. A high strength Al alloy containing 0.3-2.0% Mn, 0.10- 0.80% Mg, 0.05-0.50% Cu and optionally 0.01-0.3% of one or two of Zr and Cr is used as its core member. The sacrifice anode Al alloy containing 0.1-2.5% Mg and 0.3-2.0% Zn is clad as a face layer onto one surface of the core member. An Al alloy solder containing 7.0-15.0% Si, 0.3-2.5% Mg and optionally 0.01- 0.30% Bi is clad to the other surface of the core member. The brazing sheet having a high strength and an excellent pitting-corrosion resistance even after soldering process can be obtained.
