Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a satin Ni plating bath giving a very remarkable satin Ni plated film by adding ≥1 kind of compound contg. a sulfone group and quat. ammonium salt of an N-contg. heterocyclic compound to an acidic Ni electroplating bath.
CONSTITUTION: This satin Ni electroplating bath is obtd. by adding 0.2W2g/l of ≥1 kinds of compound (A) contg. a sulfone group and 10W500mg/l quat. ammonium salt (B) of an N-contg. heterocyclic compound represented by the formula (where N is a pyridine compound selected from pyridine, quinoline, isoquinoline, imidazoline and the like, A is the anion of a water-soluble acid; R is alkyl; and R' is halogen) to a standard acidic Ni electroplating bath contg. nickel chloride, nickel sulfate and boric acid. The compound A includes saccharin and sodium alkyl-sulfonate, and 1-hexadecylpyridinium chloride or the like is used as the compound B. When satin Ni electroplating is carried out using this Ni plating bath, the soln. is well purified by circulation filtration with an ordinary filter, and equipment for circulating the soln. and regenerating emulsion by a heat exchanger is unnecessary.
