CONSTITUTION:The reaction product of carboxylic acid with silane halide is reacted with alcohol. To the resulting soln. is added alkylsilane, haloalkylsilane or haloalkylalkylsilane, and they are reacted to prepare a composition. This composition is coated onto the surface of a substrate of glass or the like having an electrically conductive film, and it is heat treated to obtain a condensation polymerized film of an alkylsilanol oligomer, a haloalkylalkylsilanol oligomer or a holoalkylsilanol oligomer. By adding ethylcellulose, cellulose acetate, nitrocellulose or the like as a thickener to the coating soln., the coatability of the soln. can be improved.
