PURPOSE:To improve output and fuel consumption rate in the engine over all the driving range in such a way of adapting the engine ignition timing to the ignition timing required for driving condition of the engine by means of the main of subsidiary advance angle mechanism in response to its revolution range. CONSTITUTION:With a distributor 10 connected through a connecting rod 15 to a subsidiary vacuum advance angle mechanism 13 and a main vacuum advance angle mechanism 14, the subsidiary advance angle mechanism 13 is connected to the throttle port 29 of a throttle valve 9, and the main advance angle mechanism 14 is connected to an advance port 31. In the low revolution range, negative pressure in the throttle port 29 actuates the subsidiary advance angle mechanism 13, and ignition timing is controlled by the subsidiary advance angle mechanism 13. When the number of revolution is increased, and exhaust gad is in reflux, the main advance angle mechanism 14 controls ignition timing in response to negative pressure in the advance port 31, and when the exhaust gas is cut in reflux the negative presure to the main advance angle mechanism 14 becomes average negative pressure between the advance port 31 and the throttle port 29 in order to adapt the ignition timing.
