Abstract

PURPOSE:To form the alignment member of a connector easily with excellent size precision and at low cost, by forming recess grooves for aligning optical fibers by using photosensitive resin. CONSTITUTION:On an inorganic or organic substrate 1, a photosensitive resin layer 3 is formed with an adhesive layer 2 between. The photosensitive resin layer is exposed and then developed to form grooves in a prescribed shape with high precision. The depth of each groove is preferably long enough to reach the adhesive layer penetrating the photosensitive resin layer. Optical fibers 4 are inserted into the grooves respectively, and an adhesive is applied covering the photosensitive resin layer and optical fiber surfaces; and the optical fibers are fixed by using a press plate 6 from above and end surfaces are polished to make excellent connection.
