Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a multicore fiber connector having a small loss of connection, by unifying a photosensitive resin plate containing a number of U-shaped grooves to a holder having a positioning hole and made by the molding. CONSTITUTION:A positioning holder 1 having a positioning holder 2 is made by molding, and a photosensitive resin plate 3 contains a number of U-shaped grooves for array of the optical fibers and formed by the photoetching process. The holder 1 is unified with the plate 3 with an adhesive 4, and this unified matter is divided into two parts at the center part to obtain a pair of connectors. In such a way, a U-shaped groove is formed by the photoetching process with high precision of measurement, and the accurate positioning is possible by providing a guide pin to the hole 2. Thus a multicore fiber connector having a small loss of connection is obtained.
