PURPOSE:To prevent increases in bit number of the ROM in which numeric data and parity bits are stored, by using unnecessary bits other than significant digits of numeric data to be stored in the ROM as parity bits. CONSTITUTION:Among numerical data of sixteen bits, fifteen bits are used as significant bits and the remaining one bit is left as an unnecessary bit. Parity data are written in the hatched part of the ROM which is the location of this unnecessary bit. Since the location of the parity bit varies depending on the address of the ROM, addresses are developed by a decoder DEC and thus cut and divided information is obtained. To read numerical data, data of adjacent bit of the parity bit or a constant value of ''0'' or ''1'' is output as the information for selection from a selector SEL. In this way, the bit number of the ROM does not increase and ROMIC will never increase.
