Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a titled automatic welding method which performs correct welding while improving efficiency by starting multipoint welding of base metals of which the cross sections in the circumferential wall parts opposing by way of a narrow annular groove are endless and are thick-walled, from the outside circumference over the entire circumference.
CONSTITUTION: A carriage 5 movable back and forth is incorporated to an endless rail 3 set at a prescribed spacing (h) on one outside circumference of base metals 1, 1 opposing by way of a narrow annular groove 2. Next, with the carriage 5 held stopped, a guide device 13 is moved to a direction E or F to locate the TIG welding torch body 6, side shielding nozzles 7, 7 and wires 10a, 10b of a welding mechanism 4 over the narrow groove 2, after which the device 13 is lowered in a direction C to bring the leading end of an electrode 9 to proximity and opposition to the welding part of the groove 2. Next, the arc is generated between the electrode 9 and the welding parts of the base metals 1, 1, and at the same time, an inert gap is ejected from the nozzles 7, 7. The carriage 5 is moved in a direction A on the rail 3 to form the 1st weld layer in the groove 2, after which the electrode 9 of the torch body 6 is opposed thereto and the 2nd welding layer is formed in the same manner.
