Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Specified welding is performed by blowing shield gas from a back shield nozzle 14 opposing to a welding torch 13. At this time, the flow speed of the back shield gas is made slower than that of shield gas coming from the welding torch 13. It is not necessary to synchronize the movement of the nozzle with advance of the welding torch 13 and intermittent movement may also be made. The diameter of the back shield nozzle 14 is made equal to or greater than that of the shield nozzle of the torch 13.
