Abstract

PURPOSE:To dispense with a restriction plate for constricting an air flow in an automobile air conditioner for cooling and heating and reduce the air flow resistance therein, by providing a heat pipe whose heat transfer surface is exposed at the down-stream side of a heater and in a by-pass. CONSTITUTION:Air passed through an evaporator 7 is caused by an air mix damper 9 to join air which is to pass through a heater 8. Blowoff port changeover dampers 14, 17, 18, 19 and the air mix damper 9 are appropriately shifted to blow off warm air from lower blowoff ports 15, 16 in winter and blow off cool air from lateral and central blowoff ports 20, 21, 22 in summer to perform air conditioning. To control the temperature of the blown-off air, the rato of flows is regulated. The difference between the temperatures of air is reduced, by a heat pipe 25 so that the distribution of temperature in a mixing chamber 10 is made uniform.
