Abstract

PURPOSE:To greatly improve the air mixing performance of a compact air conditioner, by fitting downstream of an evaporator the second by-pass through which part of cool air is discharged into hot air flow immediate downstream of heater core. CONSTITUTION:The second by-pass 10 has its inlet 10a downstream of a closed position of an air mix door 3 in a by-pass 5 of a heater core 4 and has its outlet 10b immediate downstream of the heater core 4 through a duct 11. The outdoor and indoor air taken in by a blower 1 is cooled a dehumidified while passing through an evaporator 2 and divided by the door 3 into two flows, one being heated by the core 4 and the other reaching an air mix chamber 6 through the by-pass 5. The air in chamber 6 is further mixed with cool air from the by-pass 5 for equalizing the temperature and distributed through each outlet according to a predetermined mode.
