PURPOSE:To eliminate optical fatigue due to external light incident to a photoreceptor and to prevent foreign matter form sticking a photoreceptor part, by providing a shielding member, covering the surface of the lower part of the belt, under the photoreceptor belt. CONSTITUTION:For the purposes of removing a copying sheet causing a jam, cleaning each equipment, and supplementing a developer, an upper machine body 1A is often freed for a prescribed time. In this case, if the lower part of the photoreceptor belt 13 exposed, a belt surface is irradiated with external light having no relation to exposure, and consequently the optical fatigue of the photoreceptor, the careless contact of fingerprints on a belt surface, and the sticking of dust and foreign matter to the belt surface are caused. Therefore, a shield member 38 is provided covering the belt lower-part surface along the belt lower part, to dissolve these problems.
