Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the decrease in the quantity of light and uneven exposure by providing a means of cleaning the end face, opposite to a photosensitive drum, of an optical transmission body for irradiating original images on the surface of said drum and forming electrostatic latent images thereon. CONSTITUTION:A large number of light emitting diodes 3 are exposed through an optical transmission body 4 onto the photoconductor 2 of a photosensitive drum 1. The photoconductor 2 of the drum 1 uniformly charged with an electric charger 5, is exposed by an optical transmission body 4 and developed 6, after which the toner images are transferred 8. A revolving shaft 12 is provided in the notched part 10 in the peripheral part of the drum 1. A brush 11 is provided on the shaft 12, and is rotated by a belt 15 or the like so that when the part 10 faces the body 4 the brush 11 cleans the end part of said body 4.
