Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to secure a constant extent of exposure at all times, by detecting a fall of the surface potential of a photoreceptor corresponding to a standard passive reflector, and finishing the exposure when it has fallen to the reference potential. CONSTITUTION:A standard passive reflector 17 is placed so as to adjoin an original reference line 16, and reflected rays are projected to a photoreceptor 2 through a reflector 11 and a lens 12. Also, a detecting element 19 for detecting the surface potential of the photoreceptor is provided, and it detects the surface potential of the photoreceptor 2 which is exposed by reflected rays from the passive reflector 17. When this voltage has fallen to the reference potential which has been set in advance and causes no dirt on the surface, an exposure light source 10 is turned off by a prescribed electric circuit. According to said constitution, even if an optical attenuation characteristic of the photoreceptor 2 is varied, exposure can be made by a proper exposure time corresponding to said variation, and a constant extent of exposure can be secured at all times.
