Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the captioned apparatus for ventilating buildings or the like from damages by a method wherein the lower ends of a couple of heat exchangers communicating with each other at their upper ends are connected to each other through a vaporable liquid tank and the upper ends of the heat exchangers are further connected to each other through rising pipes attached with heaters, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: In case where heat is transferred from the heat exchanger 1B to the heat exchanger 1A, the heater 7B for the rising pipe 6B is operated to boil a liquid 11 flowing through the rising pipe 6B so that the resultant air bladders flow into the heat exchanger 1B together with the liquid 11 through a header 5B and evaporate by receiving the heat of a heated gas circulating outside a heat transfer pipe 2B. Then the resultant vapor in the pipe 2B flows in the direction reverse to the flowing direction of the liquid 11 to be introduced, through the header 5B and a header 5A, into the heat exchanger 1A where it radiates heat through a heat transfer pipe 2A and then returns to the liquid tank 4 after it is condensed. Further, in case where heat is desired to be transferred in the reverse direction, the rising pipe 6A is used. Thus it is possible to dispense with a mechanical movable section and to prevent the arratus from damages.
