Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance stability of an engine in the range of low load operation and to improve fuel consumption, by a method wherein an open and close valve, controlled by the output of an engine, is provided to an interconnecting path of a motorcycle, in a unit to which a secondary intake path, interconnected with each other by an interconnecting path, fit for the motorcycle, is provided.
CONSTITUTION: The secondary intake path 15 is opened to an intake path 44 adjacent to an intake valve 13 of each cylinder of four cycled internal-combustion engine, the other end of the secondary intake path 15 is connected to an interconnecting path 17 through a vertical hole 16, and each secondary intake path 15 is mutually interconnected through the interconnecting path 17. In this case, a cylindrical, open and close valve 22, pressed to the right side by the tension of a spring 21, is slidably inserted in an interconnecting path 17 with some play. The open and close valve 22 is consisted of a valve member 22a which is provided with a valve port 23, and a spacer 22b, and is opened and closed by a diaphragm unit 24, which works as a means to detect the output of an engine. That is, an open and close valve 22 is moved to the left side in accordance with a high load operation in which the intake negative pressure introduced to a port L of a low pressure chamber 31 becomes higher than the predetermined value, and the degrees of opening of a valve port 23 to a vertical hole 16 is enlarged.
