Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce dead volume and lost of pressure in ducts, by disposing regenerators and cooling spaces coaxially and annularly along the outer periphery of cylinders in a serial four cylinder heat gas engine. CONSTITUTION:The 1st-4th regenerators and cooling spaces 17-20 are disposed coaxially and annularly along outer periphery of the 1st-4th cylinders 1-4. The 1st-4th high temperature expansion spaces 9-12 are connected to the side of the regenerators of the cooling spaces 18, 20, 17, 19 of the 2nd, 4th, 1st, 3rd regenerators respectively by 1st-4th heaters 21-24, and also communicated directly with cooling side of the 1st-4th regenerators and the cooling spaces 17-20 via through holes 25-28 acting as low temperature ducts. This construction, eliminates necessity of the communicating ducts between the regenerators and the coolers and the dead volume and the lost of pressure therein can thus be reduced.
