Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a dill stem dissolving problems generated in using said drill stem for drilling oil well in geothermal well drilling and enabling effective geothermal well drilling by preparing a composition enhancing heat resistance, corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance in surface hardening treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Said drill stem is prepared by subjecting steel comprising, in the wt% basis, 0.10W0.40 C, 0.50 or less Si, 0.30W1.5 Mn, 2.0W5.0 Cr, one or more of 0.30W2.0 Mo and 0.10W0.50 V and the remainder of Fe and inevitable impurities to molding, hardening and tempering treatments. Herein, C is necessary from a standpoint of strength of a core part but the upper limit thereof is determined in order to insure a preferable surface hardening layer. Si is necessary in order to form preferable steel ingot melt but the upper limit thereof is determined from a standpoint of carburization and toughness of the surface hardening layer. Mn is necessary in order to form preferable steel ingot melt. Cr is necessary in order to insure heat resistance and H2S resistance but the upper limit thereof is determined from a standpoint of carburizing property and nitriding property. Mo is necessary in order to insure heat resistance, corrosion resistance and enhancement of Cr effects and the upper limit is determined from a standpoint of effect stabilization. V is effective in enhancing heat resistance, corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance but the upper limit thereof is determined from a standpoint of effect stabilization.
