Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the adherence of base material to heating head and also the wearing, etc. of the heating head by providing a substance layer having excellent heat resistance and a low hardness to the surface of the side to be touched by the heating head of the base material constituting a heat transfer recording medium.
CONSTITUTION: A solid ink layer 12 composed of a colorant, e.g., a pigment or a dye, and a binder, e.g., a wax, etc., and capable of keeping a solid state at ordinary temperature but an increased fluidity when being heated is provided on one side of a filmy base material 11, e.g., polyester film, nylon film, condenser paper, etc. And, a heat-resistant layer 13 having excellent heat resistance and consisting of a substance of a low hardness is provided on the surface to be touched by the heating head of the base material 11 in order to form an objective heat transfer recording medium 20. The heat-resistant layer 13 used is preferably formed by coating a binder, e.g., of styrene-maleic acid copolymer, etc., being used for heat-sensitive paper in a thickness of approx. 2W10μm on the base material.
