Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively practice the titled control, by applying dissimilar kinds and amounts of lubricant to a pair of an upper work roll and a rolled sheet and a pair of a lower work roll and the rolled sheet, on purpose to cause a differece between the friction factors of said two pairs of the roll and the rolled sheet. CONSTITUTION:A lubricant held in a lubricant recovery tank 22 is separated by a suitable separator 23 into a high concentration lubricant 24 and a low concentration lubricant 25. Then, the high concentration lubricant 24 is supplied by a pump 27 through a nozzle 20 to the upper surface of a rolled sheet S, and similarly, the low concentration lubricant 25 is supplied by a pump 28 through a nozzle 21 to the lower surface of the rolled sheet S. That is, the friction factors between the rolled sheet S and the work rolls 10, 15 are made different, by adjusting the concentration and feed rate of the lubricant to be supplied, so that the meandering motion of the rolled sheet S during a cross helical rolling work is eliminated.
