Abstract

PURPOSE:To control concns. quickly and stably and to roll materials smoothly by providing two units of rolling mill lubricant tanks, supplying rolling mill lubricants of dissimilar concns. therein and controlling the concns. of these lubricants at every S pass and H pass rolling. CONSTITUTION:In reversible rolling or the like, low concn. controlling for rolling mill lubricants is accomplished in S pass rolling and high concn. controlling of the lubricants in H pass rolling. At this time, the set concn. of the lubricant in a low concn. rolling mill lubricant tank 12 is corrected by forecasting the increase of sad concn. on account of the entry of the lubricant used in the rear stage pass. This correction is accomplished by removing the oil content from the lubricant in the tank 12 by using an oil-water separator 13 during the rear stage pass rolling or replenishing water from a water tank 15. The correction of the concn. of the lubricant in a high concn. tank 11 is accomplished by replenishing a prescribed amt. of the lubricant from an oil tank 14 during the front stage pass rolling. By this method, the unit of the rolling mill lubricant is reduced.
