Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the corrosion and wear resistances and to reduce the cost by adding a prescribed amount of Mo, W, V, Ta, a rare earth element, etc. as secondary components to a prescribed amount of Ni, Cr, Cu and Fe as principal components.
CONSTITUTION: This magnetic alloy consists of, by wt., 35W75% Ni, 3W17% Cr, 6W14% Cu and the balance Fe as principal components and further contains ≤12% of ≥1 kind of element selected from ≤8% each of Mo, W, v, Ta, Ti and Co, ≤1% Mn, ≤5% Al, ≤5% si, ≤3% Zr, ≤3% Sn, ≤1% Pb and ≤2% rare earth element. The Ni, Cr and Cu contents of the alloy are restricted as low as possible within limits in which the performance is not deteriorated, so the cost is reduced.
