Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the use of the titled ore as starting material for a blast furnace in stable operation by feeding the ore as grate protecting bed ore of a sintering machine, screening it together with sintered ore after sintering, and feeding the minus mesh as starting material for sintering and the plus mesh to the blast furnace.
CONSTITUTION: Highly reducible and disintegrable lump ore 1 is fed to a crusher 3 through a belt conveyor 2, crushed, and screened with a screen 4. The plus mesh 9 and the minus mesh 8 are stored separately. The plus mesh 9 is sent to a hopper 10 above a sintering machine 13, fed as grate protecting bed ore of the machine 3, and sintered together with upper starting materials for sintering fed from a hopper 11. After the sintering the ore is discharged together with the sintered ore, crushed with a crusher 14, cooled with a cooler 15, and screened with a screen 16. The minus mesh 17 is sintered again as starting material for sintering, and the plus mesh 18 is stored in an ore storage tank 5. This plus mesh sintered lump ore 18 is not powdered in a blast furnace and can be used as starting material for the furnace by about 10% as highly reducible and disintegrable ore.
