Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the reduction powdering rate of sintered ore by placing a shielding belt over starting material for sintering on the rear half portion of the pallet of a DL type sintering machine to shield air sucked from the top to the bottom and changing sintered ore cooling from slow cooling to rapid cooling.
CONSTITUTION: When starting material for sintering is sintered on pallet 1 of a Dwight-Lloyd type sintering machine and cooled with air sucked from an upper portion on the rear half portion of pallet 1, the material surface is shielded with shielding sheet 8 made of synthetic rubber, metal or the like and having heat resistance, wear resistance and flexibility. Since the air is shielded, the sintered ore is fed to a sintered ore crusher set at the ore discharge side of the machine without cooling, and it is subjected to rapid cooling accompanied by crushing. The resulting sintered ore is not reoxidized from magnetite to hematite, so the reduction powdering rate in a blast furnace is improved.
