Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce unnecessary ore to be sintered without increasing treatment energy by crushing high-temp. sintered ore, charging ore or pellets thereto and cooling the mixture composed thereof in a cooler section, then classifying the cooled mixture and using plus sieve as the feedstock to be charged to a smelting furnace. CONSTITUTION:The cake subjected to calcination in a sintering machine is discharged at an ore discharge end 5 of a pallet 4 and is crushed by a crusher 14. The crushed cake is charged to a cooler 11. Raw material ores 12 for charging to a blast furnace are charged between the ore discharge end 5 and the inlet part of the cooler 11 to mix the crushed and sintered cake 13 in the high- temp. state and the ores 12 of ordinary temp. at this time. The mixture is cooled and dried in the cooler 11 and the fine grains or fine powder sticking to the surface of the ore particles is separated from the ores, then the mixture is conveyed in this state to a sizing sieve 6 and is classified. The plus sieve product is used for charging to the smelting furnace and the minus sieve product is used as a sintering feedstock.
