Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the machining shape accuracy of a corner part in such a way that a work and an electrode are put to move relatively at the determined speed while machining energy is changed in proportion to changes of the machining area, so that machining energy density can be maintained to its constancy. CONSTITUTION:In case where a work 10 is machined into a contour shape by means of a wire electrode 12 of a wire cut discharge machine tool, the corner part 22 at which the machining direction is to be changed is abnormally machined resulting in deteriorating in its machining accuracy. When machining at corners, since the area of the machining part 14 is varied, the variation of the machining area is computed by means of a controller 34 using the machining data from a memory 36. The result from its computation is fed into a power controller 38, condition of the power source 40 is changed, and controlled to hold the machining energy density to be constant in variation of electrical condition of the power source 40. Relative movement speed ?of the wire electrode is constant.
