Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce sharply the ventilation loss of cooling air and to enhance the ventilating efficiency of a salient-pole type electric rotary machine by a method wherein a circular ventilation guide cover is fixedly provided on the stationary part side as to cover the axial directional end part of pole of a rotor, and an air layer to rotate with the rotor is formed. CONSTITUTION:The circular ventilation guide cover 12 is provided facing to the axial directional end part of the pole 4 protruded from a yoke 3 of the rotor, and is fixed to the stationary part side through a supporting metal fittings 13 and a liner 14. A space (g) is provided between the end of the pole 4 and the ventilation guide cover 12 as to form an air chamber 15 forming the air layer to rotate with the rotor. Accordingly because a cooling wind flowing into the pole part from the axial direction flows rotating with the rotor in the air chamber 15 once, ventilation loss is reduced and cooling and ventilating efficiency can be enhanced.
