Abstract

PURPOSE:To extend the life of an antioxidant treating bath, by adding a carboxylic acid type surfactant, a sulfonic acid type surfactant and suchlike to a mixture of at least one compound of an Al-containing reducing agent and an Si-containing reducing agent with a coating component. CONSTITUTION:The antioxidant is comprising at least one agent of reducing agents such as Al powder, aluminum dump slag, Al alloy powder, Si powder, ferrosilicon and Si alloy powder, a desired coating component (sodium polyacrylate) and at least one surfactant of a carboxylic acid type surfactant, a sulfonic acid type surfactant and a nonionic polymeric surfactant. The above-mentioned surfactants are adsorbed on the surface of reducing agents such as Al and Si to form protective films on the surface of Al and Si. Therefore Al and Si are prevented from reacting with other ingredients in the treating bath so that the life of the treating bath is extended.
