Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a corrosion preventive material for metals having the effect better than that of conventional molybdic acid corrosion preventive materials by contg. polymaleic acid (salt) and molybdic acid (salt) or tungstic acid (salt) as effective components. CONSTITUTION:A corrosion preventive material contg. two components of polymaleic acid or its salt (e.g.; Li salt) of usually about 500-2,000mol. wts. (A) and molybdic acid or its salt (e.g.; Li salt) or tungstic acid or its salt (e.g. Li salt) (B) as effective components. Ratios by weight of the component A and component B of this case are 1:0.5-5.0, more particularly 1:0.5-2.5. This corrosion preventive material for metals is suited for use usually in the form of an aq. soln. or by preparing in the form of powder directly mixed therewith. If this corrosion preventive material is added usually at about 2.0-100ppm as the total amt. of the effective components to the system to be prevented of corrosion, the purpose is achieved.
