Abstract
PURPOSE: To add dehumidifying function to an air conditiner designed for exclusive use as a cooler, by effecting on-off control of a compressor and an indoor fan only by use of a coolant circuit for a cooling cycle of the air conditioner.
CONSTITUTION: Means for controlling starting and stopping of operation of a compressor and a fan is constituted by an air-temperature detecting element 22, temperature setting means 23, one-chip microcomputor 21 having an input of a switch 24 for determining start of control, and an output buffer 25. The control means is connected to switches C', F' of a motor for driving the compressor and fan. In the program of the microcomputor 21, a dehumidifying program intended for use when the room temperature is lower than a setting temperature is included in addition to the cooling program used when the room temperature is higher than the setting temperature. In the dehumidifying program, time T2 for turning the compressor ON in a period of T1 and time T4 for turning the fan ON at the intervals of period T3 within the time T2 are selected to satisfy the following relation; T1>T2>T3>T4. Further, two or more periods T3 are involved in the time T2. By employing such a control, air is circulated for the time T4 when only the compressor is in operation and rapid cooling is performed by a cooler, and air is dehumidified by repeating the above process.
