Abstract

PURPOSE: To dehumidify air in a room to be air-conditioned without causing substantial drop in the temperature of air in the room, by operating a compressor and an indoor and an outdoor fan motors intermittently by use of a coolant circuit consisting of a compressor, condenser, capillary tube and evaporator.
CONSTITUTION: When an operation selecting switch 13 is in its "cooling operation" position, cooling operation is performed by a control circuit 23 which compares an output value of an indoor-temperature operated thermistor 16 with an instruction value of a set temperature varying resistor 22 and controls opening and closing of a thermistor switch 17 and operation of a fan motor 18 and a compressor 20 on the basis of the result of the above comparison. On the other hand, when the switch 13 is shifted to the position of exclusive dehumidifying operation, dehumidifying operation can be performed irrespective of the instruction value of the resistor 22 by calculating a proper set temperature that does not cause drop of the temperature of air in the room to be air-conditioned, from a predetermined formula on the basis of an output value of an indoor-temperature operated thermistor 16. Thus, it is enabled to dehumidify air without causing substantial drop of the room temperature and undesirable influence to the operation of air conditioner.
