Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a titled stainless steel by DC electrolyzing in an aqueous solution of ferric chloride of specific temperature and concentration using a stainless steel as an anode through applying DC current of specific current density for a specific time, then by carrying out pitting corrosion into thus treated stainless steel through dipping it in an aqueous solution of ferric chloride of specific concentration. CONSTITUTION:An electrolysis is performed in an aqueous solution of ferric chloride of 7.5-85.5 deg.C and of 0.5-23.5wt% concn. using a stainless steel as an anode and through applying DC current of 0.7-18.8A/dm<2> current density for 1-30min. Next, the stainless steel is dipped in an aqueous solution of ferric chloride of 7- 67 deg.C and of 1.9-26.4wt% concn., then pitting corrosion is carried out into said stainless steel. Further, it is possible to carry out, if necessary, either roughing a surface of a green part by chemical etching or by mechanical grinding or coating an oxidized film or a chemical conversion film on said surface by short-time heating in an oxidizing atmosphere or by chemical conversion treatment.
