Abstract

PURPOSE:To select another channel automatically when the reception state of one broadcast station deteriorates by selecting another broadcasting station which delivers the same program by interrupting the reception of the current station and by comparing reception levels of both the broadcast stations. CONSTITUTION:Part of a signal tuned to by a tuner 2 is supplied to a level detecting circuit 3 and averaged by an averaging circuit 4 to be stored. When the averaged level decreases below a predetermined value, a control part 11 a sends a signal to a muting circuit 6 to intercept a voice. Simultaneously, the control part 11 replaces frequency data in a data memory 12 and the tuner selects a checked station correspondingly. The reception level of the checked station is detected by a level detecting circuit 3 and compared by a comparing circuit 5 with the reception level of the current station stored in the averaging circuit 4, and the control part 11 determines which station is to be selected according to the comparison result.
