Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent abnormal voltage rise in a circuit when connection between a smoothing circuit and a power source is breaked by parallel istallation of a high speed switch along a field coil in an electric motor.
CONSTITUTION: On normal operation a current flows along the circuit CH-A-F-L2- CH when a chopper circuit CH is switched on and an electric power is transmitted regeneratively through the circuit A-L1-E-D-L2-F-A to a power source E when the chopper circuit CH is switched off. A capacitor C for a regenerated power smoothing is charged on regeneration and discharged when the chopper circuit CH is switched on. A thyristor SCR is ignited when an X marked line is breaked. By this ignition a power which is stored in a field coil F and a series reactor L2 is discharged by shortcircuiting with the thyristor SCR and can not reach the capacitor C. Therefore generation of an abnormal high voltage can be prevented.
