Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp image superior in contrast, by forming a low resistance protective layer on an interlayer containing an organic polymer as a main component, formed on the photoconductive layer of a photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive layer 3 is formed on a conductive substrate 4 made of aluminum or the like by vapor depositing Se, Se-Te alloy, Se-As alloy, or the like. An interlayer 2 having a function as an adhesive layer between the photoconductive layer 3 and a protective layer 1 besides a role as a barrier is formed on the layer 3 in <=10 micrometer film thickness using epoxy, polyester, polyamide, silicone resins, or the like. Further, the low resistance protective layer 1 made of polycarbonate resin or the like containing ferrocene is formed on the interlayer 2 to obtain a desired electrophotographic receptor.
